Q: How do I know which level of care my loved one needs?
The Director of Admissions meets with each prospective resident to identify and determine their individual abilities and preferences. Once the Director has met with the prospective resident and/or his or her family, our Nursing department will develop an assessment plan that is designed to meet the resident's needs while encouraging as much independence as possible.

Q: I need someone to take care of a loved one while I am unavailable. Does Ohio Valley Manor offer such a service?
Ohio Valley Manor offers short-term stay/respite programs. Our short-term/respite residents enjoy all of the same amenities, dining, and community programs available to our other residents.

 

Q: Can my loved one receive assistance taking medication?
Yes, our staff is highly trained and can assist any residents with their medication needs.

 

Q: Are transportation services available?
Ohio Valley Manor offers courtesy transportation for all of our residents to activities within the local area.

 

Q: What kinds of activities do you have?
Ohio Valley Manor offers a wide range of lively programs and events for residents. The current Activities calendar can be accessed on the OVM News & Calendar page.

 

Q: Are there private rooms?
Yes, private rooms are available. Please inquire about availability and pricing.

 

Q: Are the doctors on site?
Ohio Valley Manor assists their residents in arranging for a variety of medical and mental health services that are often provided on-site or in the surrounding community depending on the individualized needs of each resident. These include primary medical services, psychiatry, podiatry, dentistry, optometry, as well as many other medical specialties.

 

Q: What kind of therapies can I expect?
Our Therapy Team will assess and develop a personal therapy program based on the resident's needs. We offer:

  • Physical Therapy

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Speech Therapy

  • Restorative Therapy

  • Aquatic Therapy


Q: What is the admissions process at Health Care Management Group?
We have a straightforward admissions process that involves the following steps:

  1. A Referral for admissions into one of our facilities is submitted.

  2. A Doctor's Order from your physician is received.

  3. An Assessment is completed either in the hospital or at your home.

  4. We will assist you in obtaining a Verification of Insurance and can provide you with information on applying to Medicaid.

  5. Once our review is complete and you are accepted, we will be able to welcome you to Ohio Valley Manor to help you with your short or long-term care.

  6. Upon Admissions, a full application packet will be completed with you, your family, or Power of Attorney/Guardian.
